Let’s face it: freeroll tournaments do not remotely resemble “real” poker in any way, shape or form. Don’t be surprised if everybody at your table goes all in the first hand – some will even do it for several hands in a row. Freerolls are a minefield.
If you get through the first few levels and actually make it to the point where all the players that have abandoned their stacks have been blinded out you may stand a chance of making a small score. But even at this stage, most players will be very inexperienced so be prepared to play ABC poker.
The non-Hold’em events are an excellent way to hone your skills in other forms of poker. If you already have some skill at those games your chances of winning are much improved.
